Let me introduce you to Mike
Mike Potter moved back to Wharton to start a business and raise his son in his hometown. Like many people moving into town, Mike wanted to spend time renting while waiting to find the perfect house for his family. Due to the lack of adequate rental housing, Mike stayed with family and commuted 12 miles into Wharton for a year and a half.
If he had rented in town, Mike would have spent money locally, (indirectly) contributed to the tax base, and set roots in Wharton.
